Ronald McDonald House provides low cost accommodation to families with a child undergoing treatment in Crumlin Children's Hospital.
Ronald McDonald House support families from Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Siblings are also able to stay at the house.
Age Requirement: Under 18
Criteria:
- The patient child must currently be in treatment and aged from new born to 18 years of age.
- The child must be an active patient receiving medical treatment at Crumlin Hospital in Dublin.
- The family must live outside the greater Dublin area or 25 miles or more from the Ronald McDonald House.
- Parents who are under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
- Minimum length of stay is generally 4 nights or longer.
How to apply/who can apply:
- In most cases you are referred by a clinical professional in Children’s Health Ireland at Crumlin such as nurse manager or social worker, but parents or guardians are welcome to contact the House directly to enquire about accommodation or ask a member of your child’s care team in the hospital.
Cost/means testing:
- There is a €10 donation per room per night but no family is turned away regardless of their ability to pay.
